Born and raised in Belfast, with parents from Ghana Winnie Ama is proud to represent the quite new Northern-Irish-African diaspora. Winnie Ama started writing stories and poems which turned into songs when she learned piano and singing aged 13. She met Belgian producer Francis Groove while living in Budapest on a gap year and they became good friends before collaborating musically.
In 2019 she released her first song as a featured artist with Francis Groove. It reached number 7 in MusicWeek's Urban Club Chart. She also collaborated with Francis Groove Nd Friends on 'Can't Wait' which reached number 1 in MusicWeek's Urban Club Chart and has appeared in Photo Vogue.
