Susie Q Biography

Susie Q, otherwise known as Susan Quirke is an Irish singer, songwriter, and musician originally from County Limerick. Her forthcoming album, Into the Sea, was released in 2018 and blends elements of indie rock with folkier ethereal and atmospheric songs written in California, Spanish Point in Clare and at her home near Bull island in Dublin.  She co-produced the album with fellow Irish artist Colm Quearney, previously of Lír fame and currently a member of Squarepegs. Susie Q, otherwise known as Susan Quirke is an Irish singer, songwriter, and musician originally from County Limerick.

Her forthcoming album, Into the Sea, was released in 2018 and blends elements of indie rock with folkier ethereal and atmospheric songs written in California, Spanish Point in Clare and at her home near Bull island in Dublin. 

She co-produced the album with fellow Irish artist Colm Quearney, previously of Lír fame and currently a member of Squarepegs. Quearney features extensively on the album, alongside fellow former Lír bass player Rob Malone, and members of legendary Irish indie band The Frames - Colm Mac Con Iomaire (violin), Graham Hopkins (drums) and Justin Carroll (piano, keyboards). The album was recorded in Quearney’s studio ‘the Qube,’ and at Fiachra Trench’s ‘Meadows’ studio. It was engineered by Ruth Kennington, and mixed and mastered by Grammy award winner Dave Odlum at his studio in France.

Susie Q is also known for her work as a co-founder of the A Lust For Life mental health charity and she is also a meditation teacher. She has opened for the Dalai Lama and has performed at Body&Soul, Electric Picnic and other festivals.
