Dermot Clen

Dermot Clen is a Lisburn based musician who was introduced to music at the age of 5 when his dad taught him a few chords on guitar. His first performance was in front of his classmates and teacher in Primary 2. He has come a long way from the early days and has since learnt many other instruments including cello, piano and harp to name but a few. Dermot studied music at Queens University Belfast and trained for many years to become a classical cellist.

However he was always simultaneously interested in pop music and as such, has created a blend of acoustic singer-songwriter with lush orchestral melodies, particularly strings. Having played as a session musician for multiple local musicians and writing songs here and there in his bedroom for many years, he has recently released some of his own music.
